Events: Komiket: The First Filipino Komiks Market

This is a good Easter Sunday treat. In the absence of the Summer Komikon 2015 here comes Komiket. It is an event independent of Komikon that boasts itself of being the 1st Filipino Komiks Market.

It will be held on April 5, 2015 (Sunday) at Elements Centris, EDSA cor. Quezon Ave., Quezon City. A Php. 50 entrance ticket is to be paid upon entering the event. I assure you that this entrance ticket is worth every peso.

There are new works that will be released at the event. Some of them are:
  • Anino Comics
    • Light by Rob Cham

  • Visprint, Inc.
    • Princess Maryam by Eric Cabahug

  • Alamat Comics
    • Josef Miggy & Yaya Karol by Budjette Tan, Kajo Baldisimo and Rysa Antonio

  • Meganon Comics
    • Buhay Habangbuhay ~ Chapter 2 by Tepai Pascual and Paolo Herras

Another special treat is that some works from Francisco V. Coching will be sold during Komiket. He's the Dean of Philippine Comics, National Artist for Visual Arts and was awarded during the 4th Komikon Readers' Choice Awards with the Komiks Legend Awards. Currently, 4 works are said to be sold during this event. This is a rare opportunity to be able to get your hands on works made by a legend Komikero. His works that are said to be on sale on that day are:
  • Super Bida Series 1 Portfolio
  • El Indio Compilation (remastered)
  • Lapu Lapu (remastered)
  • The Art and Life of Francisco V. Coching (coffee table book)

Craving for more? Clear out your Sunday of other events, except attending the Easter Sunday mass of course for Catholics, and head on to Elements Centris. You will never go wrong as we will also be seeing other works from Point Zero Comics, Fhate Comics and Callous Comics to name some of them. Have a happy Easter to all!
