Movie Update: Matteo Guidicelli The New Pedro Penduko

The new movie adaptation of Pedro Penduko moves forward as it now presents a new Pedro Penduko. Matteo Guidicelli is set to play the titular role. This comes as good news after James Reid's withdrawal for playing Pedro Penduko occurred due to his medical condition.

Pedro Penduko, first created by Francisco V. Coching, a National Artist for Visual Arts, first appeared in Liwayway Magazine in 1954. Since then, it has been adopted numerous times into the big screen and television shows. Viva Films is set to make another movie adaptation of this story using the modern and re-imagined version written by Regene Estolatan under Epik Studios. James Reid was initially announced to play the famous komiks character but he later on withdrew from playing the said role due to a medical condition. The role of Pedro Penduko eventually was given to Matteo Guidicelli.
